GLOBAL PEACE wishes to invite you to a Zoom webinar on Global Peace Inter-Generational Dialogue, LIVINGSTONE – NEPAL Edition on Saturday July 4th 2020 at 02:00 PM NEPAL TIME (GMT+5:45)

THEME: Post-COVID Opportunities and Challenges: Inclusive Economic Growth and Sustainable Development

 ABOUT INTER GENERATIONAL DIALOGUE

Global Peace Inter-Generational Dialogue is a pioneering platform where young future leaders dialogue with current leaders on their aspirations for what a better world should look like and offer inputs on how to shape it. The Inter-Generational Dialogue brings together individuals from various disciplines, backgrounds and age groups representing academia, government, business, students and youth leadership, and civil society organizations to share their insights and thoughts on issues pertaining to peace and development. The aspirations and outputs from the various Inter-Generational Dialogues held across the globe will be collated into a Global Peace Charter to be adopted at the United Nations Global Peace Forum to coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations. Global Peace will convene a series of Inter-Generational Dialogues (IGDs) in 100 cities across the world. The dialogue will be guided by a set of questions focused on global issues that are based largely in advancing the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

WHY GLOBAL PEACE?

The vision of Global Peace is to be a catalyst for collaborative efforts that create social compacts between governments, multi-lateral agencies, the private sector and civil society; towards generating innovative solutions to ongoing challenges to peace and development. Working through young people across the world and key stakeholders, Global Peace will become an ecosystem for Ideas, Innovators, Influencers, Investors and Implementers to find practical solutions to global challenges enhancing conflict prevention and strengthening the global multi-lateral system.

As you already know, the first of the series of the Global Peace Inter-Generational Dialogues was convened at its inaugural Inter-Generational Dialogue (IGD) on 06 May 2019 in Accra, Ghana. The dialogue was presided over by UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Advocates, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, the President of Ghana, and Mrs. Graca Machel in her capacity as the Chair of ACCORD’s Board of Trustees and the Chair of Global Peace.  Following the Accra Dialogue, Global Peace has been working towards convening 100 IGDs across the world. Successful IGDs have been held in Japan, South Africa, Dominican Republic, DRC, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Cameroon, Argentina, Uganda, Netherlands, Germany, India, Portugal, Switzerland, Gambia, Brazil and more 75 more to take place this year as celebrate UN@75.
