Chintan Chautari-02 with Ugan Manandhar

Chintan Chautari is a talk program series of Team NEPO that brings national and international speakers, experts, professionals and scholars from various background with an aim of spreading knowledge and wisdom to the world of young people. Usually, one event focuses on single speaker (Guest) with single specific topic and deliver to a minimum of fifty participants within two hours. Guests are those who have great experience in relation to whatever issue is being discussed on Chautari. They share their story or area of expertise with participants. The speaker comes up to deliver their story, thoughts or ideas on the diverse themes as environment, science, health, medicine, technology, history, literature, business, agriculture, innovation, entrepreneurship, and many more. Chintan Chautari expects nation's enthusiastic young people to participate and learn from our speakers from diverse fields and work together in bringing a difference in the world.

 

Chintan Chautari comes up with its second episode after the success of its first episode with His Holiness Dr. Charudatta Pingale to talk on the topic ‘YOUTH, HEALTH & LIFESTYLE’. This first episode was held at Babarmahal, Kathmandu on Saturday, 13th April, 2019. This second Chautari with Ugan Manandhar will discuss on the topic 'PLASTIC POLLUTION'.

About The Speaker

 

Ugan Manandhar is the Renewable Energy Technical Advisor at WWF Myanmar who was the former Deputy Director at WWF, Nepal with a total of eighteen years of work experience of which more than eleven years directly related to Climate Change Adaptation (Food energy water nexus and DRR) and Mitigation at International, Regional and National levels; Also, he worked with international, regional and national Government agencies, local communities and indigenous people (in the mountains and low lands), NGOs and INGOs, Civil Society Organizations, Academia and Private Sector on policy advocacy, program management, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, fund management, capacity building, communications and campaigning and outreach, knowledge management and reports and proposal writing.

 

His Engagements: Member of the Core Negotiating Team of the Government of Nepal; Member of Technical Advisory Committee of the Designated National Authority (DNA) under the former Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, Government of Nepal; Member of the Technical Committee on REDD+ of the Government of Nepal; Team member for WWF’s Global Climate and Energy Initiative and Forest and Carbon Initiative and member of WWF’s steering group on Sustainable Development Goals; Member of WWF’s Sustainable Hydropower Development team; Member of the World Bank’s Technical Advisory Panel for reviewing the FCPF’s R-PP document. Board Member of CANSA (Climate Action Network, South Asia), Member CCNN, (Climate Change Network Nepal)
