Saguna Shah, holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from TU and Advanced Degree in French Language from Alliance Française, Nepal. She started her teaching career in 2009 and currently is a part time faculty, teaching English Literature at Kanya Campus, Tribhuvan University and as a Communication Skills, Academic Writing and French language instructor at Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management, Queen Margaret University.
Apart from being a passionate educator for a decade who believes in mentoring future generation, she is also known to be an influential literature enthusiast, writer and critic. Best known for her personal memoir in Telling A Tale (2010), her writings based on several pressing social issues, have been published in various journals and magazines. She is the Founder of bOOkahOlics; a forum promoting literature and readership in Nepal. bOOkaholics was founded in 2011. Since 2013, it has been conducting regular book discussion programme 'Chakati Bahas' at Martin Chautari, Thapathali bridging the gap between readers and National and International writers. bOOkahOlics has also been contributing towards building libraries and distributing books for the underprivileged children.
Saguna also has few theater plays to her credit under the tutelage of renowned theater directors. With her active participation working voluntarily for different organizations. She is the Board Member of Ujyalo Foundation working towards empowering and motivating the youth and women through panel discussions and mentorship programs that have meaningful impact on the Nepali society.
